David Dunbar

A native of Oakland, California, Pastor Dunbar grew up in an urban area riddled with poverty and violence. Surrounded by peers without positive male role models, he witnessed the devastating effects that a lack of guidance could have on the youth. After playing college level basketball and earning his Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Colorado Mesa University, he returned to California with his wife Shanee to mentor and coach young teens through the sport of Basketball.

In 2007, he and his wife became a part of The Embassy, a non denominational ministry in the heart of Los Angeles. He served there for over 10 years: pastoring the youth, heading the intercession department and ministering regularly to the church body. In 2018 he became an integral part of the Sons of Thunder ministry team, bringing his passion for the Word of God and an anointing to teach with power and authority.

Pastor David and his wife Shanee’, have been married for fifteen years. They live in Long Beach, California with their two children, Samantha and David.
